Chef Soumyens Kitchen

Chef Soumyen Chakraborty used to work for the Taj’s French restaurant Menage a Trois and has also had a stint with celebrity chef Anton Mossiman. His last stop though was at After Seven. So expect some fancy gourmet-style eating at this alfresco restaurant in a quiet corner of Candolim, although the tinshed like structure does not impress at first glance. There’s an impressive wine list and a lot to choose from in seafood, chicken and beef. Try the superb Chicken Supreme which comes on a bed of butter-tossed pasta. Signature presentations here are the Blue Cheese Souffle and the hot Chocolate and Cinnamon Souffle for dessert. There’s Chicken Liver Pate served on a bed of caramelized onions for the French buffs and you can try the innovative Coconut Crusted Filet of Fish in Maibu sauce or the chef’s Special Chicken which goes through the whole French-style cooking in various stages and what you finally get is braised chicken. It’s a good place to try some fancy steaks with sauces of your choice. Also a luscious Lobster Thermidor and other seafood like Tiger Prawns. In dessert, you can also try the Butterscotch Brulee accompanied with Toffee Sauce. The prices are quite reasonable, and it’s a place where the chef will visit your table to ask your preferences.
