The beach hut resorts in Palolem Beach Goa India are seasonal. In other words they do not open for business all year round. This is because of the fact that the area is subject to yearly monsoon rains which mean that the beach huts need to be taken down for a few months a year. The hotels and guesthouses that are not on the beach remain open all year round however, as do the restaurants on the main road.

The Palolem season usually begins around the end of October and lasts until the end of May.

October and November are relatively quiet months and if you visit Palolem then you will find that a lot of the beach hut resorts are still in construction phase. The resorts need to acquire building permission every year, so they often open on different dates, and rarely all at once.

Early December is also quite quiet but everything picks up during the run up to New Year. Christmas and New Year are the busiest times on Palolem beach. If you want to stay in a beach hut in Palolem over Christmas or New Year you need to make your reservation very early on, and you must expect to have to pay a lot more for your room or hut during this time.

Mid  January sees the beach quieting down again with prices dropping significantly after the festive season. This is a great time to come to Palolem if you are looking to relax and enjoy quiet walks and swims in the sea. The weather is great too as it is warm and sultry during the day – perfect for laying on the beach, and then it gets colder at night, which means you can sleep well and enjoy covering up in the evenings.

February is another very popular month for people visiting Palolem and it is recommended  to book your hut in advance, but it is still not as busy as during New Year.

March is quieter again and the weather starts warming up. Easter often falls in March and if you are planning to book a hut in Palolem over the Easter holidays, it is best to do so in advance.

April brings a lot warmer weather with it, with the heat remaining well into the night but this has its benefits as the prices of the huts get cheaper and it gets easier to book a hut,  and it is also the mango season so you can enjoy this sweet juicy fruit whilst relaxing on the beach.

By May, the resorts start packing up and less and less tourists brave the hot and damp weather. The rains are on the way, ready to give the beach a rest!

In June the monsoon starts again, most of the beach hut resorts are closed but you can still find some accommodation on Palolem main road.
