The beaches in Goa are associated with relentless and limitless fun, frolic and enjoyment. The atmosphere at these beaches is always carnival and the crowd is in the mood of boisterous celebrations. However, there are quiet a few beaches which are famous for their silent and leisurely pace and isolated identity and offer the tourists with the intention of leisure and relaxing a place all to themselves where the disturbance from holidaying crowds and vendors is minimal.

The Santrem Beach is one such peaceful stretch of clean white sand which provides an unwinding opportunity with minimal interference. Hidden between Bogmalo and Dabolim airport towards the hillock is Santrem beach. A secluded rocky and red mud edged coastline along the Arabian Sea from where the fishing community ventures into the sea. Except at 3 am when the fishermen set out in huge trawlers and little round palm thatched boats, the rest of the time Santrem is quiet and the best place to throw your bait and fishing rods. Silence, peace, leisure, privacy are some words that describe the Santrem Beach to its best. The beach is different and unique as compared to its other restless and commercial cousins like Anjuna or Baga. The Issorcim Beach is peaceful, isolated stretch of clean white sand which provides an excellent opportunity to spend sometime with oneself.

Where is Santrem Beach :-The beach lies in the administrative region of Morugao Taluka, close to the famous port city Vasco da Gama which is just 1.5 kms away and the more famous south goan beach Bogmalo. If you are in for some activity, trek down the road from Bogmalo to Santrem to soak in the fantastic views of the Mormugao Coast.

Why Santrem Beach :- Regrettably the beaches of Vasco, Cumberthi, Baina, have become extremely polluted so Santrem provides a good alternative. It is also a good place for angling. However, the most exciting part of Santrem is that it is the only place apart for Grande island where you’ll find corals. The corals are specially visible when the water is clear and they are a beauty to behold. The best time to visit, like the rest og Goa, is between November and March.

How to get there :- To get to Santrem, you can hire a taxi or a bike from Vasco. However, the most convenient means of transport to get around locally and the rest of the state are rented bikes. The Dabolim airport is conveniently close from bogmalo. It is just 4kms away. Taxis are also available from here
