‘This fast food cart, on your left on the road to Old Goa from Panaji, right at the Ribandar market junction, serves lipsmacking oan Catholic food at ridiculously down-to-earth rices. Their Beef Stew is as good as it gets in Goan homes and portion only costs Rs. 25. It’s made with small cubes of beef, long with boiled macaroni, potato, carrot cubes, etc, spiked wth some spices. Delicious! But they also have many other oan favourites in beef and pork including beef cutlets and beef cops, all very cheap. You can either eat right there or take parcel home. The name of the food-cart is quite funny, reflecting Goan whimsy: ‘Luan’ in Konkani (the local language)means ‘softly’ (as in speak softly) or ‘slowly slowly’, so ‘Luan Caterers’ would, sort of, mean caterers who cook sowly, slowly’, ‘Luan Caterers’
