Pharaoh’s Den
‘Up three flights of steps is this rather gaudily decorated and painted Egyptian theme discotheque and pub-cum-restaurant with a huge pharoah straddling the entrance. Opening up late at 9 p.m., when the night has just begun, this one is for the late- night owls who like to party right into the wee hours of the morning. It’s a popular and swinging watering hole with the European charter tourists who crowd the Candolim beach belt during the season, and is also open only during the season. True, as with many other late-night swinging nightspots, this one is also slightly seedy. But if it’s loud, brain-thumping music you’re looking for, in a dark place with fancy lights and visual illusions and with a dance floor to burn up your energy late into the night, come here. There’s a good bar menu, some main course veg and non-veg food from Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisines. Open Oct-May. ‘Pharaoh’s Den
